ISAKA Yoshitaka
Director of Nephrology

We treat patients with all renal diseases based on the latest evidence and humanism, including abnormal urine (e.g., hematuria and albuminuria) detected in health check-up, nephritis/nephrotic syndrome, diabetic renal disease, lupus nephritis, acute renal injury, and chronic kidney disease, as well as edema and electrolyte imbalance (e.g., Na, K, Ca).
We provide patients suspected of having nephritis with medical care services, e.g., tonsillectomy combined with steroid pulse therapy for patients with IgA nephropathy, according to an accurate diagnosis based on data from renal biopsy (50-80 cases/year), aiming for “radical cure of nephritis”.
We have built a reputation for skill and expertise in the treatment of chronic renal diseases since the 1960s. We are committed to interdisciplinary medical treatment by antihypertensive therapy and dietary therapy to “eliminate the need for dialysis” as much as possible.
The Blood Purification Center operated by Nephrology provides comprehensive medical services for blood purification fully using a wide range of techniques, hemodialysis, plasma exchange, immuno-adsorption, and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD).

We treat patients with IgA nephropathy by tonsillectomy combined with steroid pulse therapy in cooperation with Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery aiming for radical cure, resulting in complete remission in many cases. Patients with rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (ANCA-related nephritis), which is likely to have a poor prognosis, are aggressively treated with immunosuppressive agents.
To suppress the progression of chronic kidney diseases, as part of our interdisciplinary treatment we manage anemia and mineral/bone metabolic disorders and provide low-protein dietary therapy in cooperation with the Nutritional Management Office.
Our outpatient renal replacement therapy provides a wide range of renal replacement therapeutic services including blood dialysis, home medical care with CAPD, and renal transplantation in cooperation with Urology, carefully taking the patient’s medical condition into account.
