Blood Purification Center
Specialized medical services
At our Blood Purification Center, we initiate hemodialysis at the appropriate time for patients with end-stage kidney disease who are admitted to our hospital. We also provide care for maintenance hemodialysis patients who are transferred from other medical institutions for surgery, treatment, or medical examinations at our hospital.
In addition, we offer peritoneal dialysis (PD) treatment -a treatment method that has become increasingly established in recent years. Due to limited inpatient bed availability, our outpatient hemodialysis service is currently available only for patients who are managed on peritoneal dialysis at our hospital and receive combined therapy (hemodialysis plus PD).
Furthermore, we provide other blood purification therapies for refractory conditions and advanced supportive medical care including: Plasma exchange (PE/DFPP) for autoimmune diseases, liver failure, pre-transplant desensitization in ABO-incompatible transplantation, and post-transplant acute rejection, Cytapheresis for inflammatory diseases, LDL apheresis for familial hypercholesterolemia and refractory nephrotic syndrome, Rheopheresis (Rheocarna®) for arteriosclerosis obliterans, and Cell-free and Concentrated Ascites Reinfusion Therapy (CART) for refractory ascites.

Features of our facility
Since December 2015, our Blood Purification Center has been expanded to 14 beds, which has increased our capacity to accommodate more hemodialysis patients who require hospitalization for surgery, treatment, or examinations. Ten of our dialysis machines are connected to a central dialysis fluid delivery system, while the remaining four use individual dialysis fluid supply systems. We are also equipped to provide online hemodiafiltration (HDF). Two of the beds are available in private rooms.

Important considerations for referring your patients to our Blood Purification Center
Our services are only available for in-hospital (inpatient) patients. We also run an inpatient program for maintenance dialysis patients, which focuses on complication assessment and patient education. If you would like your patient to participate in this program, please refer them to the Division of Nephrology.
