The national regulatory authority requests that cell aliquots (stem cells/iPS cells, etc.) administered in regenerative medicine treatment are to be preserved for an extended period, which is longer than the mandatory period for retaining medical records (five years), in order to investigate any side effects that may occur. In addition, frozen embryos, gametes, and ovaries banked by patients in the Reproductive Medicine Center are also kept for a long period before their use in treatment. This center was established to safely carry out very long-term cryopreservation and management of these materials and properties in our hospital.
