Supply Center
"I don’t normally notice it, but I’m in trouble without it.” There are many such things at our hospital too. The Supply Center always understands and supplies the quantities of consumable goods needed to provide comfortable care to patients.
The Supply Center manages over 400 kinds of consumables, handling various items that patients see in the hospital, such as goods for keeping the hospital clean, hand disinfectant for entering a hospital room, cloths for wiping patients, batteries for medical equipment, oxygen masks, respirator parts, cups for urinalysis and paper towels. They also provide office supplies for examination rooms and nurse stations. Disposable gloves in particular are a frequently used item when wiping patients and cleaning rooms.
Regarding medical safety, there are also seals and trash bags for separating medical waste, relating to all departments of the hospital, from outpatient and medical wards and operating rooms to the intensive care unit.
Supply Center personnel visit each department once a week to check the quantities of consumable goods, and supplies are placed in containers for each department and delivered the next day. If there is a shortage due to large demand in a short time, each department can make special requests in the morning. The Supply Center's inventory is also appropriately managed, taking care that nothing runs out of stock.
Since this hospital has been designated a disaster base hospital, there is a reserve supply of items such as masks, gowns and gloves so that medical services will not be disrupted at a time of emergency. While the Supply Center is in the background, it is supporting the hospital.
